Discover Deleo Bros. Pizza

Walking into Deleo Bros. Pizza feels like stepping into a neighborhood rhythm that’s been playing the same comforting tune for years. I’ve stopped by more times than I can count, usually after a long workday when cooking feels like a chore and familiar flavors sound like the right call. The first thing that hits you is the smell-warm dough, simmered tomato sauce, and melted cheese that tells you immediately this place takes its pizza seriously.

Located at 123 E Broadway, Bloomington, MN 55425, United States, this spot has become a go-to for locals who value consistency over hype. The menu keeps things refreshingly straightforward. You’ll find classic hand-tossed pies, hearty pasta dishes, and the kind of hot subs that require two hands and a stack of napkins. I’ve watched families order the same combination every Friday night, which says a lot about trust built over time. One regular once told me he’s been ordering the same sausage and mushroom pizza for over a decade because it tastes exactly like it did the first time. That kind of loyalty doesn’t happen by accident.

What stands out most is the process behind the food. The dough is made fresh daily, allowed enough time to rest so it bakes up with a crisp edge and a chewy center. The sauce isn’t overly sweet, which aligns with traditional Midwestern pizza preferences, and the cheese coverage is generous without drowning the slice. According to industry data from PMQ Magazine, Americans eat roughly three billion pizzas a year, and places like this survive because they get the fundamentals right every single day. That statistic helps explain why small, independently run pizza shops remain cultural staples despite national chains dominating advertising.

Reviews around town often mention reliability, and that matches my experience. On busy nights, orders come out fast but not rushed. I once watched the staff remake a pie because the crust didn’t meet their standard, even though the customer hadn’t complained. That kind of quiet quality control builds trust. It also reflects broader food safety and preparation standards recommended by organizations like the CDC, especially when it comes to temperature control and cleanliness in open kitchens.

The dining room itself isn’t flashy, but it’s comfortable. Booths are worn in the best way, and conversations bounce easily between tables. You’ll hear people debating toppings or praising the best slice in town, another reason the atmosphere feels genuine rather than staged. For takeout, the packaging holds heat well, which matters during Minnesota winters when even a short drive can cool food fast.

From an expertise standpoint, the kitchen clearly understands balance. Too much sauce overwhelms the crust, too little leaves it dry. Here, every element works together. That balance mirrors what culinary experts often emphasize: simplicity executed with precision usually beats complexity done poorly. While there’s no claim of being artisanal or reinventing pizza, the focus stays on doing one thing well.

It’s fair to note a limitation. If you’re looking for experimental toppings or trendy plant-based alternatives, options may feel limited. The menu leans traditional, and that’s intentional. For many customers, including myself, that predictability is part of the appeal. You know what you’re getting, and it delivers.

Over the years, I’ve brought friends, coworkers, and even out-of-town visitors here. The reaction is almost always the same-pleasant surprise followed by a promise to come back. In a food scene crowded with short-lived trends, this diner-style pizza place holds its ground by sticking to what works, listening to its community, and serving food that feels honest, filling, and familiar.

  • The best pizza spot in the twin cities area in my opinion. The pizza maintains its crunch without being soggy or too hard. They have a wide variety of slices to choose from and you can also make your own pie from scratch. Definitely worth checking out

  • I went to the soft opening yesterday and got a cheese pizza, it was good and they have an introductory price of $5 which is cheap for the Pioneer Square neighborhood. They said they will have a bigger menu soon and I’m looking forward to that

  • I wished I took a pic. It's delicious. Late night coming from an Savannah Bananas game, stumbled upon DeLeo Bros and cleaned out their slices of Pep for the five of us. I for one, like cold pizza...but they serve fresh hot delicious glistening-crust crisped to perfection. It's the wide fold-y kind. I ordered ranch for dipping my slice without knowing YOURE NOT SUPPOSED TO ...we all had a good laugh Incredibly hospitable crew/owner. Spot is clean, well lit, feels safe and an inviting atmosphere to the indoor/outdoor patio seating.

  • This was a great fast pizza place that sells by the slice pizza that they heat up for you! Very fresh and tasty! One of th best pizza places we have ever been too! Great service too! Nice and cozy atmosphere. A few arcade games. And posters and 80s movie memorabilia. Very fun! And delicious! So glad we stopped here. 1st timers! Will be back for sure!

  • Located across Sealife Aquarium by Level 1, East doors. Standard NY pizza. Tastes ok especially when warm.

  • I don't do food place reviews often - this might be my first I'd have to check - but this place is a banger. It has NO BUSINESS being mall food. It had an awesome pizza place vibe, slices were awesome, pinball machine - come on! This is a good pizza place full sentence - not "good for being in a mall". Don't sleep on it - you will be happy you listened to a weirdo on the internet I promise.

  • For a mall food spot this place was there. I was impressed by the entertaining decor and the fact that it was relatively quiet for how wild and busy the mall was. The food came pretty quick and staff was kind enough for them having a constant line. The pizza was edible and honestly? If the price point was slightly lower this whole review would be more positive. It’s quick enough and that’s important in a busy mall. I would never seek this out again but if I was hungry leaving the mall, I’d consider grabbing a slice. Price was two high to grab two slices though at average quality.
